Homebuilder Taylor Morrison is planning its first “active adult” community in the Sacramento region on undeveloped land in Lincoln.

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based builder is planning Esplanade at Turkey Creek, an 850-home community with amenities, northeast of where McBean Park Drive meets Ferrari Ranch Road. The site is immediately west of the existing Turkey Creek Golf Club.

According to a spokesperson for Taylor Morrison, Esplanade at Turkey Creek would be for buyers 55 years and over, with a 5.5-acre amenity site. Homes would have 13 different designs, all single story, with sales set to begin in December and a sales center set to open early next year.

Project amenities would include a 20,000-square-foot lodge and a 10,000-square-foot indoor lap pool. In the lodge, residents will have a full restaurant and bar, cafe, game room, salon/spa, massage center and fitness center.

Components of the fitness center will include cardio and weight equipment, a performance training room and a movement studio for classes in yoga, spin, barre and ballroom dancing.

Other amenity site features include an outdoor resort-style pool with cabanas, bocce ball courts, horseshoe pits, pickleball and tennis courts, and dog parks for both small and big dogs, including washing stations and water fountains for pooches.

Though Esplanade at Turkey Creek is Taylor Morrison’s first 55-plus community in the Sacramento region, it’s built several others elsewhere, mostly in Florida.

In Lincoln, the project location is a few miles north of one of the larger 55-plus communities in the region, Sun City Lincoln Hills by Del Webb. Other similar communities are planned or under construction in or near Davis, El Dorado Hills, Folsom, Rancho Cordova and within the unincorporated Placer Vineyards project in Placer County.
